Wanting to tryout a unique format here we are calling Monster of the Court. This is a fun play on a traditional volleyball practice game where the serve only occurs on one side of the net with teams rotating for a chance to make it to the Monster side. Find a co-ed partner and come out and play. This is an awesome format to get in your cardio!
How to earn points:
- Side out (win the point) on the Monster Side +1
- Clean ace (no touch) from the energy (serving) side.
- Monster side receives +1 for 3 consecutive missed serves or +1 when a serve is missed under 3 minutes on the clock.

Tournament Schedule:
- Check in: 7:00pm
- Ball in the air: 7:15pm
- Pool Play: 7:15-8:15
- Bracket Play: 8:20-845pm
- Finals approximately: 8:20
Times are subject to change and could fluctuate on length of games as well as warm up times.
Rules/Tournament Format:
- Sign up with an opposite sex partner and come out and compete in this fast paced game.
- Pairs will play three 15 minute timed rounds, while keeping track of their own score by announcing the points out loud.
- Net will be set to a co-ed height net.
- Serving rules: Teams must alternate whom serves, but there is NO COURTESY RULE, you can serve whom you please. Girls this means you will most likely being served more
- Final Round: will be comprised of the top 4-5 teams with the highest # of earned points over the 32pool play timed rounds. They will compete in two more 15 minute rounds to see who is the Monster of the Beach.
- Scores from the previous 2 rounds will be wiped and start fresh in the final round.
- Rules: Teams must rotate who serves, staying in an alternating order of server on the Energy side. Teams can only serve from the Energy side once the Monster side team indiciates they are ready to receive serve (ready position eye contact etc.), Monster side teams may not delay the game by taking excessive time to go to the winning side (walking is not allowed). If a team misses a serve they go to the end of the line before they can try to play for a spot on the Monster side.
